Spring – little by little

Indoor starting of vegetable and herb plants is underway. Yesterday, I set 15 different types of seeds germinating. The method of using an organic cellulose compostable mat in a growing tray was used again. Cover it to mimic the darkness of underground, and we’ll check them in a few days.

Kale and rainbow chard were planted in starter pots this morning. They were sprouted the same way. Upon completion of planting, the tray of baby plants was put in ambient light rather than direct sun or grow lamps to assist rooting and ease shock.

The tomato plants set in starter pots three weeks ago are doing great! They’re four inches tall, healthy and beautiful.

This is what the garden looks like now.

We’ll keep you posted!
