4. Presence-Reality, simplicity

Ideals are interesting. Because of them, we strive to do better, aspire to improve our environment and maybe even the world. Yet, ideals are unreal. They are figments of our imagination and it is questionable if an ideal – in its purity – can ever be met or accomplished.

Meditation is idealized by almost everyone. For this reason, some people avoid meditation, others try but always feel that their effort bears little result, and others are on the cushion a lot trying to perfect the art. In all cases, the relationship of desire and ideal is revealing itself.

Well, in meditation training, everything is used to bring about clarity and Presence!
