Meditation: taste and awareness 3

The one taste of Awareness is present in every moment of cognition and recognition. But, due to habits of consciousness, the neutrality and expansion within a moment and presented to our senses by an apparent object, is immediately categorized, named, and put through the personal filter of like/don’t like, want/don’t want. All the while, the neutrality of Awareness experiences the richness of moment by moment Awareness-cognition as one taste: equal.

This indicates that name/label, choice or heedless acting without thought, are all born from neutrality, from the sameness which is the experience of Awareness. Habits of consciousness, patterns of behavior and preference, are overlays to the neutral equanimity of Awareness.

What does that mean from a practical point of view? We have choice. Because we are Awareness.
