advancing meditation: how dynamic tranquility is

One of the primary traps in learning meditation or advancing a practice is expectations. Another is experiencing something as it is but missing its subtlety or profundity because those qualities were not noticed. For example, serenity or tranquility is quite a dynamic state. It is rich with the texture of simplicity, bright with clarity, and peaceful but vibrant. But if one is looking for serenity to be experienced a certain way, then how it is will be missed or pushed aside.

Training in meditation is so full and yet so simple. It is demanding, yet requires growing content with the moment as it deeply is. It also requires effort combined with letting go, allowing and being present while supporting presence as it is.
