How graceful it all is. The peony lies down. Its autumn leaves as beautiful as its anticipated blooms in June.
Returning home from the hospital was to enter a frost-completed garden. It’s season complete and me, too.
Beautiful dancing shapes curved or twirled or puffed.
A few plants – mostly flowers- remain generously providing for the last migrating monarch butterfly. Hummingbirds completed their fly-through a week ago, so my neighbor said.
Kales, chard, and lettuce also still thrive. Fresh greens for a little longer. Thank you, Mother Earth!
Ah, another season complete. Great gratitude.
