“How you doing today?”
Eyes meeting, a smile from the heart, the question floats to a stranger pumping gas across from me doing the same. A short exchange of pleasantries happens. As we each return our focus to the gas pumps, a person working for the gas station comes to check on emptying the trash barrel near the man. “How you doing today?” he says to the worker.
Goodness. It goes around when we put it out there.
