Meditation: intimate 2

The function of meditation training is awareness.

A human being goes through each day like an automaton: using certain mental, emotional, behavioral, and cognitive processes repeatedly while the vast potential of these and more features of Being are not explored. The result is habits of consciousness which reify a circumscribed reality that is replayed and replayed until the person dies.

If meditation is accomplishing its function then the practitioner is becoming ever more aware. Slowly, slowly, and often going unnoticed, one’s sense of everything begins to change. One is waking up.
