We begin this re-gathering of the intricate threads woven together for our morning practice with namaste: the venerable ground of Presence that everyone is.
Namaste has the connotations of “nama”: naming, honoring, pronouncing with homage and respect, appreciation and joy. “Tse” has the connotation of the fullness before one, the display of wholeness. Namaste has often been translated as “I see the god in you”, as in perceiving radiant presence, both in potential and expressing.
I brought forward the word “venerable” for this meditation for its meanings. A venerable one is one that is respected because of their Presence in demeanor, a calm inviting presence, open and with all. Also, the idea of venerating. We venerate those who live from Being and warm-heartedness; wise ones.
The Presence that you are is venerable. Namaste.
