Life is in constant flux, everything in life. One feature of existence is change. In other words, change is the constant. Observing this as:
- seasons change
- each of us grows from embryo in a womb to the person we are this moment
- emotions and thoughts changing; beliefs too
- plants, pets, weather through a day, social norms and morays in a few short years
all of them report that change is an IS. Contemplating this, being present to and with it, accepting the ephemeral nature of existence assists greatly when change is active in our lives or relationships.
The Tao te Ching states that “the soft overcomes the hard.” With that we are invited to witness that it is so and release into the ongoing flow of change.
We engage this consideration because distraction is a personal tool to temporarily try to escape the undeniable.
