Meditation: with intention 2

Thursday’s meditation employed the steps from Tuesday again. With less need for explanation, we got right to meditation.

The components have all been practiced here before; most for weeks at a time. Familiarization is key to meditation practice and off-the-cushion integration in one’s life.

  • namaste: expanding it to now be an intention – to dedicate body, speech, and mind to the welfare and benefit of all beings
  • confidence: call forward one’s own maturity of being and trust
  • settling: which the prior two have largely provided
  • breath: the out-breath is the object of one’s concentration. Marry the mind to the breath.
