Astronomically, Pluto is still in the constellation Capricorn. The rulers of Capricorn are Saturn exoteric and traditional, Saturn esoteric, Venus hierarchical, with Mars exalted and Jupiter falls. One thing we will find in this series of articles is the prominence of Saturn and Venus as overarching qualifiers of our times. Why come back to them instead of immediately exploring Pluto in either Capricorn or Aquarius? Because they are the indicators in the sky; and, to my mind, we are daily seeing the display of crass Saturn/Venus. They began with the Trump inauguration taking place in the Capitol, with the PTSD of those who tried to protect the building and the people inside still not healed nor the grief for those killed by the mob yet assuaged. Within days in office, the perpetrators were released from their duly lawful sentencing as well. Then there is the farcical renaming of the Gulf of Mexico to the Gulf of America, the various executive orders which categorically undermine the welfare, health access, financial security, and basic sanity of the majority of U.S. citizens, while also reopening Guantanamo torture camp. Now we have that traumatized Palestinians are told their ancestral homeland is not theirs.

Recognize Saturn as gargoyle and smirking demon undermining all forms of decency and sanity; equally recognize Venus as slick diversion from being pick-pocketed royally. And, on top of this series of insults, you-citizen of the U.S., are being slapped to the ground and left with a “hurrump” like the rest of the world, all children, and future generations. Lower Saturn/Venus then, glances back with heinous disdain and says, “And, what are you gonna do about that!?” So, before getting to Pluto, observe and keep in mind that Saturn/Venus are the night sky’s declaration, calling us to see them and thus see what they represent on all levels: recognize their energies in action.

Saturn/Venus is also the action of women and those who honor feminine energy protesting, is planting trees, and saving whales caught in trap lines. Saturn/Venus is hardship that could reveal a better way (V), a way forward that benefits all beings forever (S) or these two planets can be costumed and called anything such as tariff or Elon Musk having access to every citizen’s social security information. The word tariff is a diversion from the fact of it being a tax passed on to the purchaser.

By the reckoning of tropical astrology, Pluto has entered Aquarius. The rulers of Aquarius are Saturn exoteric and traditional plus Uranus modern; Jupiter esoteric, Moon hierarchical, plus Mercury exalted; with no planet falling or in detriment. Saturn once again is forefront. Let’s organize our minds around what is being indicated astronomically and astrologically: that Pluto’s energy will route through Saturn first and primarily; and possibly (probably?) through its entire journey in the sign of Aquarius.

We are seeing this energetic currently in the world. The governments (S) in Canada, France being scrutinized (S) and restructured (S). Restructuring in the U.S also. In each case, thoughtforms (S) of protectionism, class division, and money ruling or purchasing the members of governance (S & S) is front and center. Like the Tarot card of the devil, there is no ambiguity as to what is going on. Yet, like the same Tarot card, the two human beings who think themselves bound by and chained to the Devil are, in fact, not. Their bindings are no heavier than paper rings put together by a 4 year-old. The humans could walk away easily; but security and the sense of stability, entitlement and its false sense of security, not to mention the drone of Netflix all are the mortar of perceived limitations that the citizenry languish in. Saturn, Saturn, Saturn.

What about Pluto? When all is said and done, Pluto is the ultimate phoenix. It represents new made possible by the death, destruction, and graduating from the old. The latter is called maturing, Saturn again. Much that Pluto has come to represent in sidereal and tropical astrology had for millennia been the qualities of Saturn. Saturn, by ruling time and cycles, ruled death. Saturn, by being the planet furtherest away and yet visible to the naked eye represented boundary, the relationship of known to the unknown, and to forces that could wreck havoc through limitation, authoritarianism or dictatorial methods. Death now is bequeathed to Pluto, the nether-world between here and there as well: between life and death, between known and unknown now associated with Pluto further align darkness, fear, and powerlessness with Pluto. But, they all used to be recognized as Saturn’s energy. What we are experiencing in the world currently is Pluto demonstrating through Saturn as the traditional ruler of Aquarius and traditional ruler of Capricorn. What about the phoenix? Ah, yes.

What Donald Trump and others of his ilk have not registered is that humanity has moved on from “you lose so that I gain”, or “white is right”, and “money is power”. The paradigm has shifted to “together.” Swindlers and cheats, and strong men with big insecurities are in the minority. The goodness and sanity of caring for each other, caring for the Earth and for the water and soil, air and well-being of our own yard or neighborhood is now the establishing norm. The phoenix is rising and has the glorious feathers of Uranus and Jupiter, new exo and the esoteric rulers of Aquarius.

When Pluto transits a person’s chart a few qualities tend to be experienced: circumstances out of one’s control, powerlessness (due to the former), and the feeling or direct experiences of being thwarted. The Palestinians People come to my heart-mind on a macro scale. Even when the outcry of various world venues was loud, the genocide and decimation continued. In an individual’s life, the transit is best understood as an opportunity for welcome change, thus one is not powerless. One can reflect on control, on trying to control one’s life, and look at comfort and complacency also. These foster dullness. Why watch TV when any number of other activities would be creative, engaging, and foster a healthy mind? Pluto’s transits are always wake up calls. The macro example of the Palestinians displays this. Temporarily, the military industrial complex still is exerting money as power, white is right. But, the unthinkable was seen by the world; and the world community en masse said ‘this is insane and will not be our collective way forward.

Pluto’s range of awakening power and its methods are profound, unmistaken, and exacting. Invite the newness and Pluto’s power of regeneration blesses one’s Path and life. Cling to ignorance, desires that are lethal to self, others, or Planet, and Pluto will provide a reckoning. Pluto represents the lotus that grows out of the mud, rises up to the surface of the pond, and blossoms into the full, glorious light. We are this lotus. Our lives, collectively and individually, are this lotus. OM Mani Padme HUM.

Pluto is about riches, the riches within: within the Earth, under the ground, deep in our psyche which is also the ambassador of the Emptiness of Being. To enter the dark recesses of our own self-made facades, to strip off the costumes of our chameleon selves is to welcome Pluto, is to hail the ever-perfectly arising Pure Light of Innate Wisdom-Compassion that IS each and every one of us, even those currently confused.

The plutocrats, oligarchs, dictators, greed-hungry death-dealing businesses and bosses will be left with their karma; and karma doesn’t care if you believe in it or not anymore than the rain cares if you get wet. The tides have turned. Humanity is diverse, born of the amazing forever-diversity and abundance of Mother Earth. Humanity is tired of war and sees militarism as the literal dead-end that it is. No one wins, ever. WW II did not erase the thoughtforms that raged then. They still plague this world, fostered significantly in the U.S. where the North didn’t really win the Civil War. If it had, then racism would not still be the daily sorry-tale of this country. No one wins a war, and humanity does not want it anymore. Pluto/phoenix is rising.

Outmoded thoughts and ways will die, like a summer plant does. We might not know the time frame of such on the global scale, but billions of people are taking action to help not hurt, to heal and regenerate their local land, to cooperate with and creatively sustain Planet, ecosystems, neighborhoods, and minds. By rote learning is dead, creative exploration has always been how human beings learn, aided by and supported by the wisdom of those who have learned the same way. The Mother Earth has provided everything for every being that has ever lived here. Human beings mucked up that system of abundance; but not all human beings did. Those who kept the Sacred Way of reciprocity and All Are Necessary as Wholeness survived the genocide foisted on them around the world. Their Drum still sings. People everywhere are seeing the error of more constitutes happiness. Less is creative, less is healthy.

In addition to Pluto’s sacred insistence, Humanity has moved on to Venus and to the beauty of the Planet, the beauty and value of diversity, the preciousness of every being of every kind every where, and to the wisdom that recognizes that only together, in all ways that together can mean, can we go forward. The bullies are done. They are missing too much of their own humanness to go forward. Taking, raping, leaving the injured and old to fend for themselves is done. The karmic load of such is significant and beings are tired of suffering, tired of watching others suffer on screens, in facilities, in schools, and on street corners. Venus, displayed each night in the sky, represents the light of wisdom-compassion, Sophia, Mother Mary, Mother Goddess, Mother of Buddhas, Great Embrace.

In the early night sky, Venus shines bright. Look south then south west. South is a feminine direction to all Indigenous cultures. It is from where we are born. Venus displaying her splendor in this part of the sky is calling to her qualities in each of us.
I love the myth of Persephone and Hades (Venus and Pluto). He plays the bad guy and she demonstrates Kali, the primordial phoenix powers that Life is endowed with. She rises triumphant, fresh like Spring leaves and blossoms.
