Random garden joy 1

My mom provided an electric wheelchair so that I can continue to garden. Thank you, Mom!

Here is a short video – not good- taken the third week of June here in southcentral Colorado at 7800 ft.

Two weeks later (today), I thinned the corn and will eat the young stalks in today’s stir fry. Add cilantro, bok choy and yukima (all garden grown) and yum!

Just a few walking onion stalks and baby fruit were harvested on Monday. The entire plant is edible: 2 ft stalks chop and boil for onion stalk, baby onions growing from  the top (yes, the tops) are like pearl onions – use as you will, baby green onion shoots growing from the pearls use as usual, and Yes the bulb under  the ground is a sweet onion. These perennial onions are prolific, beautiful, tasty, and a favorite.
