Meditation: causes and laughter

Humor and laughing with one’s self about one’s self is not only valuable as a human being but it is a skill. In other words, it seems that we have to learn to lighten up with ourselves. Distinct from learning carpentry or a musical instrument which require exactitude, humor with one’s self requires loosening, letting go of self-prescribed exactitudes.

Because of two times falling in one month, both producing stay-at-home injuries, plus advancing MS (the cause of the falls), let go and laugh is the only realistic and kind self-prescription for this person. Being bothered, how does that assist? Getting frustrated, not my thing. Laugh and feel the evaporation of what was; or, like waking from a dream, you simply get on with your day.

Causes. Causes of contentment: deep abiding contentment. Causes of suffering: disquiet, disappointment, displeased, discontent and discontented. Humor with one’s self is in the contentment basket.

Today’s meditation is the podcast. The video is a follow up as more practitioners responded to “what do you want from your practice?” “How can I assist?”
