We have incorporated the book Raja Yoga by the master yogi and teacher, Vivekananda in our study of the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali. Alice Bailey’s commentary, Light of the Soul, continues as our base. Adding Vivekananda adds the dimensions of a Sanskrit scholar and a yogi of meditation to the interpretation of the sutras.
- Light of the Soul, book 3 sutra 13 recap with Vivekananda
- light of the soul, book 3 sutra 14 and the Ray Lords as Buddhas, the distinctions of manifestation
- Light of the Soul, book 3 sutra 14b jen’s example
- Light of the Soul, book 3 sutra 15 assessing point on the path
- Light of the Soul, book 3 sutra 16 living the dimensionality of one’s existence
- Light of the Soul, book 3 sutra 16b rapidity along the Path
- Light of the Soul, book 3 sutra 17 perceiving vibration – the intuitive process
- Light of the Soul, book 3 sutra 17b perception

This study group has caused a pondering on the phrase “timeless teachings.” I taught a 3 yr course using the Sutras as one of three primary foci, yet coming back to the sutras has been with – yet again – new eyes. What Patanjali gave is applicable now as thousands of years ago and every time in between. This addition of Vivekananda has added more ground to the applicability of the sutras. Do you listen to the podcasts frequently, Rae, or just dip in once in a while?
