Liebster Award Gratitude!

liebster-award2Thank you to Linda at LindaLiteBeing for the nod to Blazing Light with a Liebster Award. What fun! To quote Linda, “The Liebster is really cool because it helps introduce more readers to great bloggers, which is kind of the point of blogging.”

Rules for Liebster:

Answer your nominator’s 11 questions

Post 11 random facts about yourself.

Nominate 11 deserving blogs with less than 200 followers and ask them 11 questions.

Nominators Questions

1- What is your favorite cartoon character? Tom of Tom and Jerry
2- Do you speak any languages other than your native language? No, unless metaphysics is called a language!
3- What dishes would be served for your favorite meal? the Curry Confetti Quinoa I created last week, Pineapple Chicken Shish-k-bob with Coconut Milk Peanut Sauce on the Side, and Heirloom Tomatoes. Oh, don’t forget the Red Leaf Salad with homemade Lime Hummus Olive Oil Dressing.
4- Why did you start blogging? Truth be told, someone told me to do for SEO for Spirit Fire’s website. But that purpose quickly, whether served or not, changed as I began to delight in the medium.
5- Beatles or Rolling Stones? Beatles but I love hearing a Stone song anytime.
6- What is your dream travel destination? Inside any great ancient temple. Something in me would relish meditating among the wall mural hieroglyphs in Egypt.
7- Do you prefer writing or typing? I used to prefer hand-writing but MS now has made that not easily readable. Typing is always readable, yeah!
8- How has WordPress changed your life? Many ways: 1. a whole world community of very interesting, conscious people, writing well, and actually displaying the arising consciousness of humanity. I am inspired everyday. 2. Formulating thoughts is always an interesting process. I am glad for the forum and opportunity. 3. It feels like like-minded friendship.
9- Can you whistle? Yes, but not any special finger kind of way.
10-If you could choose an alter-ego, who would you become? Emilie Du Chatelet
11- Do you prefer life before or after the invention of cellphones? Before in many ways.

  1. wonderful post! Love what you said here: ” a whole world community of very interesting, conscious people, writing well, and actually displaying the arising consciousness of humanity. I am inspired everyday.”

I never thought of it exactly this way, but we are witnessing the arising consciousnesses in action here! And the pineapple chicken kebabs with coconut peanut sauce sound yummy! I am serving satay at my party, have you been here yet? http://lindalitebeing.wordpress.com/2013/06/10/111-global-party/

  3. Thank you for nominating me for this Donna. I am not active enough in the blogging community to recommend blogs and pass out more questions, but I will share with you my answers to the same questions you received from Linda . . .

1- What is your favorite cartoon character?
I do not have an obvious answer to this. My favorite animated film is “The Nightmare Before Christmas,” so I’ll go with Sally.

2- Do you speak any languages other than your native language?
I only speak English fluently. I learned Japanese in college and was an East Asian Studies Minor, but I have forgotten most of it by now.

3- What dishes would be served for your favorite meal?
This is also a hard choice. If were to go out to eat, I would pick an Indian restaurant and share some delicious dishes with whomever was with me.

4- Why did you start blogging?
To do something with the astrology knowledge I have and develop more of my own writing style and expression with astrology.

    5- Beatles or Rolling Stones?
Beatles. This is not a hard choice for me.

6- What is your dream travel destination?
Also too difficult, and I could give different answers on different days. I’ve never been to South America and there are a lot of places I’d like to go there. It would enjoy seeing sacred sites in different regions, like Stonehenge, lots of places in Greece, Egypt, Tibet, . . .

7- Do you prefer writing or typing?
Typing is easier for me because I think too fast when writing for my handwriting to keep up. I also hold my pen in an unorthodox manner and my hand tends to cramp up after awhile.

8- How has WordPress changed your life?
It has given me some validation that I can become a stronger writer in the field of archetypes and astrology and there are some people who will read my work with interest.

    9- Can you whistle?
    Not very well.

10-If you could choose an alter-ego, who would you become?
I’d have to go with my self, but a more integrated, heart-centered, and evolved version of myself.

11- Do you prefer life before or after the invention of cellphones?
I have to say I prefer the time when most people around me were not tuned out on technology, and more focused on what was actually happening in the air and earth around them. But cell phones are very convenient, especially being a parent who is divorced and needs to co-parent from a distance. It’s nice to be able to be reached in times of emergency.

    11 random facts about me:

    1. I have kissed the Blarney Stone in Ireland.

    2. My father was a commercial air pilot as well as a fighter pilot.

    3. I was born and grew up near the New Orleans airport in Louisiana.

    4. I moved to north of Atlanta, Georgia for junior high school and high school.

    5. I graduated from Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. I was in the same class as Tim Duncan, who just lost in the NBA Finals. We were both Psychology Majors as well.

    6. After college in North Carolina I lived and worked in Chicago, Illinois and attended some filmmaking, screenwriting, and sound for film classes at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago.

    7. I left Chicago to move to Olympia, Washington exactly on a progressed New Moon in my astrology chart.

    8. This progressed New Moon was conjunct my natal Chiron in Aries, and the professional career I now have in education here has Chiron themes.

    9. My last name Crawford has a namebook meaning of a “river crossing where crows gather,” and Gray is actually my middle name and the last name of my great-grandmother.

    10. My older daughter has a namebook translation of “the living voice of the Earth Goddess at a river crossing where crows gather.”

    11. My younger daughter has a namebook translation of “a wise gift of Isis at a river crossing where crows gather.”
